RAG RUGGING WORKSHOPS IN
WARWICKSHIRE & NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
Hello and welcome to my website, my name is Helen Mather and I am a textile designer. I have formal qualifications in fashion and knitwear and my passion is to engage in the creative process using and sourcing fabrics and any other material to create my designs.
I run several workshops demonstrating and teaching the traditional rag rugging techniques of hooking and progging. The purpose of these workshops is educational and the aim is to provide you with a foundation for a possible career in the world of fashion and design, but if that sounds too serious! my workshops are also great fun and a chance to meet like-minded people. For more details, browse my website or call me.
My workshops run throughout the year and take place in Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. Lunch is included in the price!MORE DETAILS
Rag Rugging is a traditional method used in the late 1890s to 1910 and again in the 1930s during The Depression. The tradition cake from the poorer classes born out of necessity, old clothing was recycled and reinvented, nothing could be wasted. In today’s modern society, which is a throwaway society! We are seeing the consequences of how much we throw away and the destruction to the eco system.FIND OUT MORE
